What is a Stratodesk Device?

What is a Stratodesk Device? Stratodesk Endpoints are found everywhere – in hospitals, in the financial sector, in stores, in enterprise settings, in government institutions and college classrooms. The vast scope of Stratodesk software alone can make it confusing to understand just what exactly is a Stratodesk device. The application of Stratodesk software is indeed broad. It can be used to solve mixed VDI scenarios, as well as to handle deployments with mixed endpoints. Also, our customers use us to convert existing devices into software-based Thin Clients. Virtually any x86 or ARM endpoint.

What is a Stratodesk Device?

First and foremost, Stratodesk devices are Linux-based. This means no more Windows. Instead of running and maintaining Windows on every single endpoint, Stratodesk lets you access your virtual desktops via NoTouch OS. NoTouch OS, the Linux-based operating system, runs on any device bare metal, effectively wiping the underlying OS away. It can also run side-by-side with Windows to enable work from home or personal devices. Many devices, like the Citrix Ready workspace hub, LGL All-in-One Monitors or HP Thin Clients, for example, come with Stratodesk directly out of the box.

A Stratodesk Endpoint is Secure

Another thing to consider when asking what is a Stratodesk device is that Stratodesk endpoints are secure. Our software prevents common security threats without the need for extended malware/antivirus contracts. Furthermore, our administration solution, NoTouch Center, enables IT managers and system administrators to manage all of their Stratodesk endpoints from one location. NoTouch Center uses highly secure communication protocols in order to communicate between devices. Lastly, we offer an additional Disk Encryption for more specific use cases.

A Stratodesk Endpoint is Converted

Although not always the case, many of the Stratodesk endpoints that you come into contact with day-to-day have been converted. This means that NoTouch OS has replaced the underlying, native OS on those devices, effectively turning them into Stratodesk NoTouch endpoints. NoTouch OS easily deploys onto thousands of endpoints via various convenient boot methods and converts those endpoints into Stratodesk devices. It doesn’t really matter what the device is. Stratodesk software works cross-platform with both x86 and ARM devices. Anything from an advanced Gaming PC to a cutting edge Raspberry Pi 4 can easily become a Stratodesk endpoints via PC Conversion.

Stratodesk Devices Are VDI, Cloud & IoT

Last but not least, a Stratodesk endpoint is perfect for VDI, Cloud and IoT workspaces. Our software includes the clients for all major VDI solutions directly out of the box. We also connect to any private/public cloud, enable desktop as a service, and even more insanely, IoT deployments. In fact, any of these devices have the potential to be a Stratodesk endpoint: the fitlet2, Raspberry Pi, Compfile Pi, Nvidia Jetson Nano and more!
