Citrix Ready Workspace Hub Begins Technical Preview Phase

The Citrix Ready Workspace Hub

Citrix Ready Workspace Hub leaves private testing and enters its technical preview phase. This means that Citrix Casting and other advanced features are now available to you.

Excitement over the Citrix Ready Workspace Hub has been growing. Now that the Early Access Release period is finished, everyone has access to test and explore the capabilities of the #1 Raspberry Pi based endpoint.

The Citrix Ready Workspace Hub

The Citrix Ready Workspace Hub is the culmination of Raspberry Pi based, Thin Client Technology with Citrix HDX and Stratodesk NoTouch Desktop. Powered by NoTouch OS, the Workspace Hub is capable of all the things that you would expect from a high performing endpoint. This includes Skype for Business, Dual View and the H.264 decoder. And because the Workspace Hub is built on a low cost motherboard, it is available at a fraction of the cost of competing Thin Clients.

The Workspace Hub Technical Preview –What You Need to Know

In order to get the current version of WSH software you will need to either manually or automatically update your device. This can be done either by pointing your browser to your WSH IP address, or via your management center. As this is the technical preview period, the overall usability of the Workspace hub will increase as the software is continuously tested and improved.

Citrix Casting for Android and iOS

In order to make use of Citrix casting and the new QR code feature, you will need an Android phone. Updates to the Android build are being made on a rolling basis.

Management Software for the Citrix Ready Workspace Hub

You can manage your Citrix Ready Workspace Hub either with XenMobile or with Stratodesk’s NoTouch management software, also known as NoTouch Center. Your NoTouch Center comes at no additional cost when you purchase your Workspace Hub. It’s also the only endpoint management software capable of managing both x86 devices and Raspberry Pi devices in the same environment.

Citrix Casting

Citrix Casting allows you to stream your Windows session from your server onto your phone, and then back again to your PC or desktop computer. Remove the need for card readers and even your office phone via proximity authentication and Skype for Business. An added security benefit is available as a way to easily log in and out of your session using your smartphone as an authentication method. Simply by having your smart phone with you, your desktop will automatically launch you into your session.
