Stratodesk and NComputing Innovation at Citrix Synergy

NComputing Citrix Ready workspace hub

Among Stratodesk’s many innovations on display at Citrix Synergy was the Citrix Ready workspace hub from NComputing and powered and managed by Stratodesk software. The workspace hub, also known as the NComputing RX-HDX, connects to Citrix Workspace™ directly out of the box and enables enterprises to:

  • Streamline endpoint computing across their entire virtual infrastructure and remote workers while enhancing user experience.
  • Reduce the average PC and endpoint update time by 40 to 60 hours when updates are required.
  • Cut basic PC costs from approximately $800 to $1000 per workstation to $100 per Citrix Ready workspace hub
  • Leverage the full power of their virtual infrastructure

The workspace hub highlights the tested and proven relationship between Citrix, NComputing and Stratodesk. When advanced Citrix features and capabilities are combined with trusted NComputing hardware and powerful Stratodesk software, the result is a device so advanced that it stands alone in the space where cutting edge IoT and VDI innovation meet.

All Citrix demos at the show, including those at Citrix’s official booth, ran on the workspace hub.

Proven Success – workspace hub in production environments

Even before Citrix Synergy was underway, Stratodesk, NComputing, Citrix, and Citrix Ready grabbed the attention of the end user computing community and enterprise Citrix customers with the announcement of LGL Recycling’s success using the Citrix Ready workspace hub.

Not only does LGL find the RX-HDX solution to be superior to the traditional x86 Thin Client solution it had in place before – RX-HDX devices with Stratodesk software are simple and compact, straight to the point, ready out of the box, and offer a much-improved interface.

Nick Casagrande, IT Director at LGL Recycling, commented on the power of the joint solution, saying that “An added benefit has been the ability to send the RX-HDX’s to our work from home staff direct from CDW and have them configured with zero IT involvement. All I needed to do was add one simple firewall rule. I didn’t have to set up a VPN, deploy any hardware, or gather public IP addresses.

“I just had to pop a hole in the corporate firewall so the RX-HDX’s could reach the Stratodesk NoTouch Center and obtain their configurations.”

As a result of their considerable success, the company plans to grow their workspace hub environment to well over one hundred devices – all licensed with Stratodesk software.

Citrix, NComputing and Stratodesk – The Forces behind the NComputing Citrix Ready workspace hub

Stratodesk is excited to enable such considerable savings and management benefits to companies like LGL Recycling. Doing so, however, wouldn’t be possible without the strong relationships Stratodesk has nurtured with both Citrix and NComputing

“Stratodesk has an incredible network of both hardware and technology partners” says Stratodesk CEO, Emanuel Pirker. “Our joint effort with NComputing and Citrix has enabled us to engineer the most powerful and versatile enterprise grade, virtual infrastructure, DaaS and IoT endpoint on the market, as is fully evident in LGL and others’ substantial success.”

NComputing also expressed its enthusiasm over the success companies are experience thanks to their joint venture with Citrix and Stratodesk. Richard Sah, CTO of NComputing, said that the Stratodesk powered NComputing RX-HDX is proven success of Stratodesk and NComputing’s joint mission to “provide affordable and powerful Thin Client solutions to enterprise customers.”

“NComputing is very excited about our partnership with Stratodesk to bring innovation to our customers and provide important features such as dual display support, RTME integration and Citrix Casting. NComputing and Stratodesk are committed to pushing innovative use cases and workspace transformation.” –Richard Sah, CTO of NComputing

Meanwhile, Citrix Ready highlighted the opportunity the workspace hub affords organizations and workers to get their best work done. This is thanks to an intelligent and high quality user experience across every workspace hub, regardless of app, network, or location.

“With Stratodesk and NComputing’s Citrix Ready workspace hub, LGL Recycling’s employees can get a seamless work experience regardless of the type of app, network, or location, while IT maintains complete control and visibility using a single control plane.” –John Panagulias, Director of Citrix Ready

Attendees who visited Stratodesk’s well trafficked booth were able to experience the workspace hub first hand. Those who couldn’t attend the show can still download Stratodesk software via our free trial. Lastly, the LGL success story can be downloaded from our resources page.
