Best of 2017 Webinar and What it Means for 2018

2017 has been a landmark year for Stratodesk.
For those who don’t know, we are a San Francisco based, software company with offices in Austria (Vienna and Klagenfurt). Though we are noted for having taken over the Citrix Raspberry Pi relationship, we are purely a software company. We don’t manufacture hardware –but we have been chosen as the operating system for Citrix’s new Workspace Hub. This is an amazing opportunity to reach new markets, customers, and break new ground. Following is a summary of our most recent webinar, the “Best of 2017 Webinar –and What it Means for 2018.” The purpose of this webinar was to highlight not only the massive accomplishments we have made this year from a product and company perspective, but what our customers can expect to come in the year following.

1. A New GUI –Modern Look and Feel

First, we discussed the bounds made to our new GUI. The new Graphical User Interface looks very different to match the advancements made to our software. In order to keep up, it was necessary for our team to makeover the interfaces of NoTouch Center, NoTouch Virtual Appliance, and NoTouch OS on the local device. The good news –the GUI is now streamlined across our product suite, delivering the same user experience for each different product.

What have we changed exactly?

Drag and drop

Managing your resources has become much easier. Simply drag and drop certificates and important files from your computer and import them into our software.

New on-off switches

Our new on and off switches are an intuitive way to manage your functions. Instead of having to select a feature from a drop list, just click the on-off button to manage and configure your devices.

Save and announce buttons

Save and announce buttons are easier to find.

New toolbar buttons.

Our new toolbar is also equipped with buttons that allow users to seamlessly flip from resources view, to security view, and more.

2. The New Citrix HDX Ready Pi

We also discussed the leaps and bounds we have made in our relationship with Citrix. Not only have we been named a Citrix partner of the month, most importantly, we were chosen by Citrix to be the operating system for the new HDX Ready Pi.  This Raspberry Pi based Thin Client has all the capabilities of a robust Thin Client, but is available at a fraction of the cost. With a listing price hovering around $100, it seems very likely that the HDX Ready Pi will totally disrupt the Thin Client space.

The HDX Ready Pi  will be available from our partners ViewSonic and NComputing.

Features of the Citrix HDX Ready Pi include:

    • Powered by NoTouch OS
    • Full HDX support: Flash Redirection, Skype for Business (RTME), H.264
    • Dual Monitor capable
    • Local firmware update from USB
    • Full manageability with NoTouch Center

3. Stratodesk Announces NoTouch Cloud

NoTouch Cloud is hosted by Stratodesk and runs in your browser. Manage, configure and update your VDI endpoints same as you would with NoTouch Center installed on your server. Benefit from features like auto-enrollment, direct automatic update and increased support for externally used devices. Stratodesk’s NoTouch Cloud is the solution of choice for organizations using both DaaS or an on premise VDI.

We are not moving totally to the cloud –we are simply offering NoTouch hosted by Stratodesk as an option for our customers who could use it. Some added benefits of using NoTouch Cloud are:

  • NoTouch Center updates are applied automatically.
  • Virtual Appliance Console updates are applied automatically.
  • Active appliance monitoring by Stratodesk and pro-active support.
  • Support for home machines and externally used Pi devices – without having to open the firewall/DMZ for NTC.
  • A feature we are working on is the automatic client OS download from our main cloud server. No need to get it from the portal and re-upload to cloud VA as you would do with a firewalled on-prem VA.

4. Stratodesk and Imprivata

Our partnership with Imprivata has been very important for us. Because of it, NoTouch OS is able to support Imprivata features, including Single Sign on and Fast User Switching.

5. Chromium Supported on NoTouch OS

Lastly, we discussed the newest features added to NoTouch Desktop, including faster boot times, improved firefox configurations, and the newly added, Chromium.

Chromium works at the same level as Firefox on NoTouch OS. By supporting Chromium, we have solved the issues of those wanting Google Chrome.

Stratodesk in 2018

NoTouch Desktop still is the #1 PC repurposing software –but as you can see from these most recent updates, we are branching out into new areas that will mean even bigger and better changes to come.

Our partnerships with Ncomputing, ViewSonic and Citrix mean our venturing into a whole new space, while our NoTouch Cloud gives customers yet another way to easily manage their endpoints while saving money without compromising on value.
