SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Stratodesk, the leader in PC repurposing and thin computing, will debut a fully ported and fully featured version of its NoTouch Desktop product at Citrix Synergy in San Francisco, CA May 9-11, 2012. The NoTouch Desktop product runs on a motherboard from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), based on TI’s DaVinci™ DM8148 digital media processor, and showcases what’s to come with powerful yet cost-effective ARM®-based thin clients based on system-on-chip (SoC) technology. Stratodesk will provide on-site demonstrations of NoTouch Desktop at Citrix Synergy in booth #606.
“We are proud to see Stratodesk fully leverage TI’s DaVinci DM8148 digital media processor, which provides a high-performance, low-power platform optimized for thin client solutions”
The SoC is about to revolutionize the virtualization and thin client segment, explains Emanuel Pirker, Founder and CEO of Stratodesk. “This technology offers new and exciting possibilities, and enhances multimedia performance at a much lower price. We worked with the TI team to ensure maximized future security and flexibility on our NoTouch Desktop product. We are happy to present a fully customizable, fully featured and fully manageable solution on TI’s DaVinci™ DM8148 digital media processor at Citrix Synergy.”
Stratodesk’s NoTouch Desktop is a PC and thin-client re-purposing and management solution consisting of two-parts: The first is a NoTouch Receiver, a thin OS that unifies a company’s infrastructure by replacing or running on top of Windows or any legacy thin-client operating system. NoTouch Receiver provides instant connectivity to all major VDI/Cloud and terminal services. The second part is the NoTouch Center, an innovative, browser-based client-management tool.
“We are proud to see Stratodesk fully leverage TI’s DaVinci DM8148 digital media processor, which provides a high-performance, low-power platform optimized for thin client solutions,” said Kim Devlin-Allen, Thin Client Business Manager at TI. “Stratodesk’s approach enables compatibility not only with currently available hardware, but sets the foundation for enabling solid, future-proofed designs.”
Stratodesk also recently teamed with Desktone, the pioneer of cloud-hosted Desktops as a Service (DaaS), bringing a cloud version of NoTouch desktop to Desktone customers. “Desktone offers an affordable alternative to VDI with desktops delivered from the cloud. And our partnership with Stratodesk enables us to continue to deliver a virtual desktop solution that is easy to deploy and manage, making it simple for any business to realize the efficiencies of virtual desktops,” explained Peter McKay, CEO of Desktone.
Emanuel Pirker is looking forward to the show and said: “We are very excited to showcase how easy and fast it is to repurpose a PC or thin client with NoTouch Desktop and after that establishing a connection the Desktone cloud in seconds at the Stratodesk booth at this year’s Citrix Synergy event.”
