Stratodesk’s New NoTouch Release Gives More Impetus to Repurpose PCs

Latest version strengthens security, adds enhancements for Citrix, VMware, and other clients

VMworld US 2014

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Stratodesk, the market-leading provider of hardware-agnostic endpoint repurposing software for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), has announced new releases of its NoTouch OS for endpoints and NoTouch Center server software. Dubbed “Mineral King,” the new releases enhance the security of third-party VDI software, offer additional functionality for supported hypervisors, and make virtual endpoints easier to manage.

“These new features, along with our new partnerships with FabulaTech and Fluendo, help strengthen the case for deploying NoTouch on repurposed hardware rather than being locked into vendor-specific operating systems and VDI implementations”

“These new features, along with our new partnerships with FabulaTech and Fluendo, help strengthen the case for deploying NoTouch on repurposed hardware rather than being locked into vendor-specific operating systems and VDI implementations,” said Stratodesk CEO Emanuel Pirker.

The NoTouch OS now includes a Cisco VPN endpoint supporting IPSec- and SSL-based VPNs. New security features and port security have also been added to the Stratodesk Virtual Appliance, a pre-configured version of NoTouch Center designed to run on various virtual servers.

For those who prefer the Windows interface, NoTouch Center offers Windows-based roll-out and installation, using Windows packages, in addition to the traditional PXE and USB or CD-ROM boot.

Other enhancements include digital dictation (speech input) in Citrix and RDP sessions, updated Citrix and VMware Horizon View client implementations, and new browser integration for Microsoft Hyper-V VDI, SPICE and Dell/Quest vWorkspace.

The latest NoTouch releases will be on display at the Stratodesk booth (#2429) at VMworld 2014, running August 24-28 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. At the conference, hosted by virtualization vendor VMware, Stratodesk will also demonstrate live how to transform PCs and laptops into smart zero clients within seconds.
