Stratodesk’s New Partnerships Boost the Case for VDI

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Stratodesk, the market-leading provider of hardware-agnostic endpoint repurposing software for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), announced today two new partnerships that offer customers even more options for VDI deployments.

“Our partnership with Stratodesk extends our reach to the growing number of virtual desktops, making it easier for organizations to deliver ONEPLAY to their diverse end-user communities.”

As a result of a new collaboration with Fluendo, whose ONEPLAY products enable high-quality multimedia streaming on a wide variety of devices and operating systems, Stratodesk now offers an add-on for its NoTouch Desktop to support the Fluendo ONEPLAY Codec Pack. This option gives NoTouch users properly licensed multimedia playback, multimedia redirection for both VMware Horizon and Citrix, and other streaming multimedia capabilities for virtual desktops on repurposed PCs, notebooks, and thin clients.

“Fluendo is transforming the way businesses access and use multimedia applications,” said Fluendo CEO Muriel Paumier-Moscardini. “Our partnership with Stratodesk extends our reach to the growing number of virtual desktops, making it easier for organizations to deliver ONEPLAY to their diverse end-user communities.”

Stratodesk has also partnered with FabulaTech, the leader in USB virtualization and redirection, to include a FabulaTech USB for Remote Desktop plug-in in the latest version of its NoTouch Receiver. This integration allows clients to use locally connected USB devices in their terminal sessions, as if they were directly plugged into the remote site—especially beneficial for users of Microsoft Remote Desktop services, Hyper-V VDI, or other RDP protocol-based software.

These integrated capabilities and new NoTouch features will be on display at the Stratodesk booth (#2429) at VMworld 2014, running August 24-28 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. At the conference, hosted by virtualization vendor VMware, Stratodesk will also demonstrate live how to transform PCs and laptops into smart zero clients within seconds.
