Opportunities are “Off the Charts” for Stratodesk — An Interview with Bill Chappell, New Director of Solutions Enablement

Stratodesk is delighted to welcome Bill Chappell to Stratodesk as the new Director of Solutions Enablement. To further develop Stratodesk’s Channel program, Bill will be leading many of the channel sales and technical enablement efforts that will give partners and resellers access to industry-leading training and resources. We recently sat down with Bill to learn more about himself, his role and why he chose to work for Stratodesk.

About Bill Chappell

Bill Chappell brings over 25 years in the virtual desktop and remote work solutions space, and in his several roles as a channel partner and Citrix instructor, he has worked to provide best-in-class channel solution enablement programs. Early in his career, Bill worked on some of the early deployments of Unix workstations, developing his core interest in Stratodesk-like solutions. He was among the early adopters of thin clients and virtual desktops, like Citrix, and enabled solution sales for these innovative technologies. Bill spent the last eighteen years as a Senior Sales Engineer leader at Citrix, and looks forward to spreading the word about Stratodesk’s innovative, secure OS and management solutions. He currently holds Citrix and Microsoft AVD certifications.

What value do you think Stratodesk brings to the marketplace?

I like to look at the industry as a whole, and I believe we are going to make a big impact. In the Verizon 2022 cyber security report, it says 82% of cyber security attacks are related to the human element. What does that mean? It’s a user interacting on a device. A majority of those user devices are Windows endpoints, so organizations can take out a huge risk if they can eliminate that risk factor.

With Stratodesk, organizations can take any device or thin client and deploy a read-only, Linux-based Operating System that replaces the Windows OS and all of its vulnerabilities. If people knew how simple it is to quickly minimize their largest attack surface, everyone would be implementing Stratodesk. It would be at the top of every CISO’s list and a core component of everyone’s security practice.

Why are you excited about serving at Stratodesk?

During my career, I’ve been on the frontlines of talking to customers and hearing about their current challenges. Not only do I enjoy it, but keeping in touch with customer problems is how I can influence better resources, messaging, and overall experience for all current and future customers. I look forward to helping Stratodesk’s current customers and helping them take advantage of both Stratodesk and the other solutions in our ever-growing ecosystem of technology partners. We make our partners’ solutions, like Citrix, or Microsoft’s AVD and Windows 365 work better for the IT administrators and the users.

What opportunities do you see for Stratodesk?

The opportunities are off the charts for Stratodesk. Technology leaders are ready to defend themselves from cyber attacks. They are also cost conscientious and want to spend their money where it will have the greatest impact. Stratodesk is the solution for these organizations, and all that’s left to do is spread the word.
